Mitt Romney's garbage man is featured in a new pro-Obama attack ad, put together by a government employee union. The "sanitation worker" whines that Romney "doesn't care" about him and, apparently, has never come out to tell him he's doing a good job, shake his hand or hug him (no, seriously, that's what he says). I never knew my trash collector was so emotionally needy. Maybe I'll leave a copy of "Chicken Soup for the Soul" out by the curb this week.

I'm really tired of hearing this "he doesn't care about me" line. We're electing a president, not a guidance counselor. I don't need my president to "care about me". I don't need him to hold me close to his bosom and rock me to sleep when I have a bad dream. I need him to care about the constitution. I need him to care about doing his job. That's it. Right now neither mainstream candidate cares about the constitution so I'm saying this more for future reference.

And, by the way, you really don't want the president to personally care about you. Obama "cared about" an American citizen a couple years ago. He sent him a "just thinkin' about you" card -- in the form of a bomb dropped from a drone onto his minivan with his kids in the car.

That's what happens when the president cares about you.
